Adam Lloyd - Bsc.Kin, CSCS, PNS

Background:

Born in Nova Scotia and no stranger to high performance sport himself, Adam has competed at an elite level in Baseball, Hockey, Football, and Basketball. He earned the opportunity to pursue several athletic US scholarships for both Baseball and Football. Unfortunately, chronic injuries due to imbalanced muscle development and poor conditioning lead to a decline in his performance and was forced to stop playing competitive sports.

With a true passion for the world of sport, and always wanting to be close to the competition of sport, Adam pursued a degree in Kinesiology and a career devoted to building better athletes. He has had the privilege of helping some of the most elite athletes from a host of different sports including hockey, football, mixed martial arts, skiing, wrestling, boxing, etc. His accomplishments and constant drive to learn has led Adam to be recognized as a premier strength and conditioning professional among his peers and colleagues.

Philosophy:

Adam believes in taking a holistic approach to athletic performance based on functional movement assessments, exercise related nutritional evaluations, specific corrective and dynamic exercises, and a host of other measurements. This detailed analysis ensures efficient movement patterns, balanced muscular development and optimal nutrient intake for overall health, body composition, and performance.

When an athlete trains they should train with a purpose, and that is to perform. Far too often athletes forget their purpose and train for other things, like big muscles. While these forms of training have a purpose, it's not for performing efficient movements like the athlete's body should. This approach typically results in a race between stimulating muscle as much possible before frying the central nervous system. Unfortunately, it's that same nervous system that continues to run the entire body after you train. And it's that same nervous system that masterminds improvement in performance.

With a better feeling for the nervous system, whole body balanced movements and good nutrition, an athlete can significantly improve the effectiveness of their training. These are the core fundamentals of Adam's approach to training both athletes and personal clients.
